Ed Smith

Ed Smith began his tenure with the Lynchburg College athletic department as the school’s head strength and conditioning coach. He has since been promoted to the position of Director of Strength and Conditioning.

Smith served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Webber International University (FL) for the last year. He designed, implemented and coordinated the year-round strength and conditioning programs for baseball and women’s soccer, and assisted with men’s basketball and football. Smith implemented programs for the golf, softball, tennis and cheerleading teams.

A former graduate assistant at Salisbury University, Smith designed, implemented and coordinated a year-round strength and conditioning program for football, women’s soccer, swimming and volleyball. He also assisted student-athletes in progression of quality nutritional, psychological and leadership information.

Smith earned his Master of Science degree in applied health physiology with a concentration in strength and conditioning at SU. He was a two-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) linebacker at Emory & Henry College, and graduated from the institution with an athletic training degree.

During the summer of 2013, Smith had the unique opportunity to work with Olympic, professional and youth athletes while interning at EXOS (Athletes’ Performance) in Frisco, TX.
