This week on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher and Spreaker, STT interviews Bert Sorin. Bert is the President and co-owner of Sorinex Exercise Equipment, which specializes in innovative training solutions. Sorin and his father, Richard (founder of Sorinex), have been responsible for designing or developing some of the most useful training tools in the last three decades that have changed the training game. Bert and Richard run the manufacturing plant, as well as training center located in Columbia, South Carolina. Bert has competed at some of the highest levels of competition in these events, while compiling quite the list of awards and accomplishments. During his time at the University of South Carolina he was a four time Division I All-American in Track and Field (Hammer and 35lb weight throw) and also broke the Southeastern Conference record in the weight throw. He was a 2000 and 2004 Olympic trials athlete, and Amateur World Champion Highland Games Heavy Athletics, and then top ranked pro in Highland Games. Bert is a published strength author and has written articles for the NSCA, Long and Strong Thrower’s Journal, Milo, and Men’s Fitness. His areas of expertise in the field include: power production, speed of implements, sport specific application, program and equipment design, and invention of cutting edge training solutions/aids.
