Brian Amenta

Brian Amenta is currently the Director of Strength & Conditioning at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), a mid-major, Division-1 institution. Amenta, along with his two assistants, are responsible for the physical preparation of 15 varsity teams.

Amenta originally began his career as a personal trainer in 2007. In 2008 he began a career in corporate fitness while also personal training part-time. Amenta worked in corporate fitness from 2008-2014, most of which was spent at the Cooley Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he eventually became the Assistant Director.

In 2011, Amenta was hired as the graduate intern strength and conditioning coach. In 2014 he was promoted to Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning. In 2015 he was promoted to the Director position.

The Baltimore native graduated from McDaniel College in 2008 with a B.A. in exercise science and physical education. While at McDaniel, he competed in football and was a part of a conference championship team in 2004 and led the squad in receiving his senior season.

Amenta is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, and is currently working towards completing a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from A.T. Still University.
