Christian Hartford

Christian Hartford joined the University of Maryland during the 2015-16 season as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach responsible for Volleyball, Gymnastics and Men’s Golf.

Before arriving in College Park, Christian was the Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Northwestern University under the tutelage of Olympic Sports Director Jason Pullara and Assistant Director Mike Schweigert. Christian was in charge of training Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving, Cross Country, and Fencing. He also took over the responsibility of Wrestling during the ’15-’16 season. During his time at Northwestern, Christian also earned his Masters of Sports Administration through the Northwestern School of Professional Studies.

Christian received his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from Wake Forest University. He was a walk-on Quarterback on the 2008 Eagle Bank Bowl Championship team. He spent his time in undergrad learning from Head Strength Coach Ethan Reeve and developing his passion for Strength & Conditioning. Christian is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
